When I studied accounting back in the late 80s, almost everything was done manually. The only convenience I had was a calculator. We worked using a lot of paper called spreadsheets. Spreadsheets had several columns in them for making entries. Today I am learning QuickBooks which is a whole new way to do accounting using software.
Learning QuickBooks may be a bit tricky if you don’t have an accounting background. However there are several versions available. You can get the basic starter kit especially if you are running a mom and pop business. There is a support that comes with the program. This software makes bookkeeping so much easier. I can only imagine how easy it is teaching accounting to students now using programs instead of pencils, erasers and spreadsheets.
